Everytime, once a while, you did something bad that will land you with this error. I run into this error when I use iphone without sim card as developer device. The orange light on Organizer indicates the iphone is not communicating to Xcode. With orange light on Organizer will prevent you from running the app on device.

Error:

The Developer Disk Image could not be mounted.
Xcode could not find an appropriate Developer Disk Image to mount on iPhone. Please contact Apple for the 2.2.1 (5H11) device support package.

These actions won’t resolve the errors

  • Restore iPhone on Xcode’s Organizer
  • Restore iPhone on iTune
  • Upgrade iPhone on iTune
  • Upgrade iTune latest version
  • Upgrade iPhone OS

Fix on OS2.2

  • Copy \Developer\Platforms\iPhoneOS.platform\DeviceSupport\2.2 to \Developer\Platforms\iPhoneOS.platform\DeviceSupport\2.2.1
  • Restart Xcode

Fix on OS2.2.1

  • Copy \Developer\Platforms\iPhoneOS.platform\DeviceSupport\2.2.1 to \Developer\Platforms\iPhoneOS.platform\DeviceSupport\2.2
  • Restart Xcode

Note: If you have installed SDK 3.0, you would have to get the folder from SDK 3.0 folder \Developer\Platforms\iPhoneOS.platform\DeviceSupport\2.2.1. Copy to SDK 2.2 folder \Developer\Platforms\iPhoneOS.platform\DeviceSupport\2.2.
